Frequently asked questions
What is concierge physical therapy?
Concierge physical therapy provides one-on-one, highly personalized care in the comfort of your home, office, or private studio with minimal scheduling delays. Instead of sharing your session time with other patients, you receive the full attention of your physical therapist for the entire appointment.
How is concierge PT different from traditional outpatient therapy?
Unlike a busy clinic setting, concierge PT offers privacy, convenience, easy of scheduling, and individualized care without the time constraints or external interruptions of a standard clinic. Sessions are fully customized to your goals, schedule, and environment.
Who can benefit from concierge orthopedic physical therapy?
Anyone recovering from injury, surgery, or pain—or seeking to enhance movement, posture, or performance can benefit. It’s ideal for busy professionals, athletes, dancers, or individuals who value convenience and a high level of personalized care.
Do I need a physician referral to start?
In California, you can see a physical therapist directly without a physician referral for up to 45 days or 12 visits. If your condition requires ongoing care beyond that, we’ll help coordinate with your healthcare provider for a referral.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your first visit includes a thorough evaluation of your posture, movement, strength, and mobility, followed by an individualized treatment session. You’ll leave with a clear plan for recovery and specific strategies to begin improving immediately.
How long is each session?
Sessions typically last 55–60 minutes of one-on-one care. Extended sessions are available for complex cases or combination treatments (e.g., scoliosis management and movement training).
How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your condition, goals, and lifestyle. Some clients need only a few sessions for guidance and prevention, while others benefit from a structured multi-week plan for recovery and long-term performance.
What should I wear or prepare for my session?
Wear comfortable, movement-friendly clothing. If the session is at your home or office, a small open space is all that’s needed—your therapist will bring any necessary equipment.
Do you accept insurance?
The Spine Studio operates as an out-of-network, concierge practice. Payment is collected directly at the time of service, and we can provide an itemized receipt (“superbill”) for potential reimbursement through your insurance provider.
Can I submit for out-of-network reimbursement?
Yes. Many clients receive partial reimbursement depending on their out-of-network benefits. We’ll provide all the documentation you need to submit to your insurance company.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. Virtual sessions are available for movement assessments, guided exercise progressions, or postural coaching when in-person visits aren’t possible.
What is your cancellation policy?
A minimum of a 24-hour notice is requested for all cancellations or reschedules. This ensures availability for other clients and maintains the personalized nature of concierge scheduling.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Book a complimentary phone consultation to discuss your goals, needs, and the best plan to get started.
